Alli + Ryan’s classic, fairytale winter wedding at Raleigh’s famous Merrimon-Wynne wedding venue.

When Alli described her wedding day to me as classic, fairytale and romantic I knew the Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh, NC would check all the boxes. The gorgeous house with all its classic charm, the intimate and beautiful lawn and the romantic carriage house with for the reception have all you could need for a beautiful wedding day. I’ve often joked that you cannot take a bad photo at the Merrimon-Wynne house. It stands so beautifully on it’s own. Combine all those things with the classy color palette of emerald green, white, silver and black helped to further that vision. Alli and Ryan’s February wedding at the Merrimon-Wynne was truly what dreams are made of.

Any NC residents will know that the weather here can be a bit bipolar, especially during the end of winter heading into spring. But, Raleigh decided to give us one of those crazy beautiful days. We started with lots of cloud cover but by mid afternoon the sun was out and we got those beautiful NC blue skies.

Ceremony in the Carriage House

With the weather being such a hit or miss during February Alli and Ryan made the choice to play it safe with a comfortable ceremony in the Carriage house. It is such a beautiful and intimate option for a ceremony location. After getting ready and wrapping up photos of Alli and Ryan with their respective parties, it was ceremony time.

One of my favorite parts of the Merrimon-Wynne House is the lawn and how elegant it makes cocktail hour feel. The space is also large enough for lots of space but small enough that everything still feels super intimate. Even sitting snug in downtown Raleigh the Merrimon-Wynne House holds its intimate charm. While we finished up photos of the family, wedding party and bride and groom portraits, guests mingled on the lawn and iconic front porch. Also, speaking of the front porch we took full advantage of the gorgeous porch for photos!

Party Time!

With the “hard” part behind us it was time for Alli and Ryan to simply relax and enjoy their evening with all their loved ones. The carriage house was transformed into a beautiful reception space in excellent time. The space was so gorgeous and made for such a magical atmosphere to end the night in. The evening was a blast with toasts, cake cutting, an outfit change, mingling, dancing and a bubble exit to end the night!
