I’m so excited to finally share Lauren and John-Paul’s wedding day on the blog! They split their celebration between the Washington Duke Inn and St. Phillips Episcopal Church in for the perfect Durham wedding. Both locations were equally as beautiful for their classic wedding day.

When I say it rained on Lauren and John-Paul’s day… I mean it RAINED. That slow steady drizzle that is only comforting if you are home curled up with a good book, coffee in hand or a fun movie playing in the background. It isn’t ideal when you are supposed to be getting married!! Despite the rain Lauren and John-Paul remained so calm and excited to finally become husband and wife. When they finally got to see each other for the first time both of their faces lit up with joy. They were so happy to simply be with the other and that joy was so infectious. Every one around them couldn’t help but feel the same joy.

Not only were they so in love with each other but they were also some of the kindest people. Each one taking care to make sure all their guest felt welcomed and loved. They loved their people well and you could see how much their people loved them in return.

We started the day at the stunning Washington Duke Inn where Lauren and John-Paul got ready. Well the rain drizzled down outside Lauren slipped into her gorgeous Justina Alexander dress and John-Paul put on his tux. Lauren shared a sweet first look with her dad before we headed out to St. Phillips for their ceremony.

At St. Phillips they had a wonderful ceremony with their closest family and friends by their sides. We stopped and got a few pictures at the church and outside in the court yard area when we finally got a little break in the rain! After pictures we headed back to the Washington Duke Inn for their intimate reception. They had the most romantic candle lit dinner which such a beautiful tablescape to finish off the evening. It was such an honor to capture their day! Thank you Lauren and John-Paul for choosing and trusting me to capture your wedding!!
