Engagement sessions in winter can be tricky. The trees are dead or dying, the grass is a dull brown, skies are overcast more days than not and man is it COLD. I seriously doubt anyone has every said, “man, I really want dull, lifeless images”. I mean, I could be wrong but I highly doubt it. So when choosing to shoot any sessions in the winter I’ve learned to be really intentional in how I help my couples pick their outfits, the lighting and the location. All of these things play a huge role in creating beautiful warm images even on the coldest winter days. Taylor and Will’s session is proof that even in the dead of winter you can have stunning images.
My favorite part of engagement sessions is watching my couples interact with each other. Each couple is different but they all have the same thing in common, they are madly in love. Watching Taylor and Will laugh with each other was magical. I absolutely loved being a part of their engagement session and cannot wait to celebrate with them at the beautiful Farmer’s Daughter in December for their wedding day!
