“A lifetime of anticipation”
I won’t lie, I cry a lot at weddings. No matter how many weddings I shoot there are so many sentimental moments that bring a tear to my eye. The way a mom looks at her baby girl when she slips that wedding gown on, the heartfelt toast your childhood best friend gives, or the way a dad’s face fills with emotion when he sees his little girl as a bride for the first time.
It’s a moment filled with so much love. I hear so often from fathers, when they held their baby girl in their hands for the first time they knew this was a moment they hoped and prayed they would have the chance to see but there is nothing that could have prepared them for that special moment.
When I got married I still remember the moment my dad saw me in my dress. My hair and makeup was done, and I held my wedding flowers in hand. He walked towards me trying his best to blink the tears out of his eyes. It is and always will be one of my favorite moments from my wedding day. Now I have the opportunity to capture that same special moment for so many brides. A lifetime of anticipation played out in front of my lens. These are the magical moments of wedding days. While your guests take their seats – behind closed doors true magic unfolds.
Finding time in the busy timeline
It’s a moment that can often be overlooked. Sometimes brides feel like there is not enough time to add one more thing into the already busy timeline. Let me tell you, this doesn’t have to be true. I love to carve out all the time we need to ensure we capture every special moment when constructing your timeline.
I’ve been a part of so many father-daughter first looks and I’ve seen some really special variations. Some brides have opted to include their brother, or grandfather. Regardless of how you choose to do it I know it will be one of the most special moments of the entire day.

If you ask me, my answer will always be 100% yes. These are some of my favorite photos because they are so special. It’s a moment not everyone gets to witness, it’s intimate. It allows you a moment to take it all in. You are about to become a wife. You will walk down that aisle as a woman and come back up it a wife. Take small moments, like the father-daughter first look, to slow down and take in those special men who helped you get there.
